Sixth form students from the South Wiltshire University Technical College (UTC) took time out of their studies recently for a well earned tea break.

But they weren’t drinking a cup of tea, they were finding out about high-level apprenticeship opportunities at Twinings. The company was in college to raise awareness of its Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships.

Twinings, who are based in Andover, and sell more than 500 varieties of tea have been in business since 1706. As a nation the British drink 165 million cups of tea a day with 96% of people using tea bags.

“The representatives from Twinings gave the students an overview of the business and explained to the students the entry requirements for their apprenticeships,” said Joe Mulligan, Principal. “There are some fantastic opportunities for our students at Twinings and we are delighted to have established this link with a global brand.”
